FNB customers can now apply for funeral insurance plans through nearly 6 700 FNB ATMs and Slim line devices, across the country. Customers can get cover from the minimum value of R10 000 to the maximum value of R60 000 for the main member.
The process is said to only take a minute, which makes up for the time spent in potential queues.
“Making funeral plans available via this channel is a logical step as ATMs already enable citizens to access a number of services,” said CEO of FNB Life, Lee Bromfield.
According to FNB, an ATM has become one of the most multi-purpose and most frequently used channels in both urban and rural township communities.
“This development offers consumers in those and other areas, an opportunity to use this channel to get funeral plans from a provider they can trust, thus avoiding possible debt associated with paying for a funeral.
“Under the current economic conditions where cost is a major factor, consumers need cost-effective and efficient channels to get the services they need. Consequently, allowing customers to take up funeral plans whenever and wherever they want, empowers them to make the right decision,” highlighted Bromfield.
