South Africans do not trust anyone

Out of the respondents, 64% said that they do not trust anyone which is worrying for those who are working in these professions.

General manager of Justmoney.co.za, Andy Gilder , is however not too surprised by the results.

"At face value the results of the poll would suggest a mistrusting society, but I suppose the results need to be taken with a pinch of salt - the temptation to reply with "none of the above" may have been too much for some people to avoid!"

With such uncertain economic times on the horizon, the most surprising result was the fact that 20% of users actually trust bankers the most but Gilder believes that the trust level between customers and their bankers should be higher.

"It's not surprising to see that nobody trusts politicians I suppose - that's an accepted norm worldwide, but journalists and bankers should install a little more trust in society than these would figures indicate."

Gilder said that because of people so easily mistrusting those who handle their money, Justmoney.co.za is the perfect place to help people make the informed choice.

Gilder concluded by joking that FIFA is probably the least trusted out of all.

"I'd be interested to see the results if we had added an option called "Fifa" to this list, I'd imagine local opinion of the football body would be pretty low at this stage"
