Standard Bank is warning customers that some of its services may not work on Sunday, 14 September due to maintenance work.

Standard Bank has this afternoon warned that some of its services could be down on Sunday 14th September, following scheduled maintenance. The bank said that functions, such as the banking app, internet and cellphone banking facilities may not work.
The warning comes after Standard Bank experienced problems earlier in the month with its services.
On the 1 September clients found that they could not transact via ATM, internet banking or at point of sale (POS) stations as the bank suffered a technical glitch with its systems. Many took to social media platforms to complain.
“The overall experience and services offered to customers remains top priority and a key focus for Standard Bank. It is for this reason that Standard Bank wishes to advise customers of scheduled maintenance due to take place on Sunday, 14th September. This may affect the ability of our customers to perform certain transactions on Sunday morning.
“Customers will still be able to make cash withdrawals and deposits at ATMs, and will be able to use their Standard Bank debit, cheque or credit card to make payments. However, Standard Bank’s Banking App, internet and cellphone banking facilities will unfortunately not be available intermittently on Sunday morning,” said the bank in a statement.

This involves rigorous system enhancements and maintenance so that our banking facilities and services remain world-class.”
“We understand the frustration and impact to customers that the disruption may have and apologise in advance for any inconvenience. In order to ensure that the impact is minimal, we urge customers to please plan ahead in terms of their banking requirements,” added Montjane.
Standard Bank said customers were welcome to enquire about the maintenance on Sunday by calling the call centre on 0860 123 000.
