Standard Bank has suffered another technical glitch, which has resulted in customers not being able to use some of its services. The bank sent text messages to customers saying that the bank was ‘experiencing interruptions’ but that ‘cheque, credit cards and cash withdrawals are still available’.
The bank sent a statement out this morning to the media stating:
“Standard Bank is currently experiencing slow responses on some of its banking platforms. Customers will have noticed that Internet banking and our App banking platform are currently not available. Also impacted is the customers’ ability to do transactions at Standard Bank branches. However, customers can still perform transactions at any of our ATM’s and point of sale devices.
“Our technicians are currently attending to the matter. Standard Bank will inform our customers when normal service levels are restored.
“Standard Bank would like to apologise for the inconvenience that this has caused, and would like to assure our customers that everything is being done to restore services as quickly as possible.”
This is not the first time that Standard Bank has suffered technical glitches. In September last year the bank reported technical difficulties. Angry customers took to social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, criticising the bank for not delivering.
If you have been affected by the technical glitch, call Standard Bank’s call centre on 0860 123 000 should they have any queries.
